Leave Ellen Alone (2016) is a live self-portrait that features the artist and her mobile device becoming intertwined. The voiceover you hear is Siri, which has been programmed to play on loudspeaker, delivering messages received by the artist on her iPhone. Although the artist has hired participants to send messages at scheduled times throughout the artistic process, the phone inevitably received unsolicited messages and alerts. The combined result reflects the seemingly never-ending flow of communication in our society, one that is simultaneously convenient and disruptive.

Leave Ellen Alone was exhibited at DLUX Media Arts, Australia in 2016.
